How it works
Cubic feet = length × width × depth. Cubic yards = ft³ ÷ 27. Bags = ft³ ÷ bag size, rounded up.
Examples
- 100 ft² at 3 in = 25 ft³ = 0.93 yd³ = 13 bags of 2 ft³.
FAQ
How deep should mulch be?
2–4 in (5–10 cm) is a commonly recommended range for garden beds.
Bulk or bags?
Above about 2–3 yd³, bulk delivery is usually cheaper than bags.
